Use the visual journal for wisdom & insight
Step out of habitual ways of thinking and responding.
The visual journal opens a creative, receptive space where insight can arise before words.

Why a visual journal?
Reading, writing, and even meditation often follow familiar mental pathways. While valuable, they can keep us circling what we already know.
A visual, creative process invites a different kind of attention. Images, sensations, and intuitions can surface without needing immediate explanation. Insight Art Journal offers a structured yet open-ended way to work with this kind of seeing, using the visual journal as a listening space where meaning can emerge before it hardens into conclusions.
Meets each month on the 3rd Friday at 2:00 p.m. Central for guided, community practice.

Working with a classical contemplative text
In this guided video, you’ll create a journal spread from a single Dhammapada verse with simple layers of color, collage, and reflection—moving from darkness to light, confusion to insight.
Coming soon: Interdependence
Explore patterns of connection and relationship through visual inquiry, cultivating a deeper sense of belonging with the living world and with one another.
Coming soon: Focus on what matters
Using the metaphor often called “the finger pointing to the moon,” this practice helps you notice where attention gets pulled away — and gently return to what truly matters in your own experience.
You are in good company

In the beginning, I didn’t know what mindfulness art or mindful journaling was about. Quickly, I was greatly relieved that the focus wasn’t about being an artist or knowing how to use art materials. I found the process to be a mix of experimenting with art materials, discovering an intention through a meditation and/or inquiry questions. I discover new insights, feel relief from anxiety and thoughts, feel recharged, and more grounded.

Awareness Seeker

I had the privilege of experiencing the profound instruction provided by Pam Hausner during a particularly challenging period in my life. At a time when I was seeking self-reflection and guidance, Pam's unique approach fostered an environment of deep reflection and personal growth, offering valuable insights and practical techniques that have enriched my understanding and practice of attention.
